Thursday 6th March 2014

In the past couple of days, we have been making and printing off flyer to advertise our sustainability apps, we have wrote website reviews about three different websites this helped us to find the good thing that we could add to our app.

We also added to or finished  our apps, we also took a screen shot of our flyer and icon and on the flyer we annotated it with DTP (Desktop)  tools and drawing tools that we had use on our flyer, to helped us we had a check list with the different tools on. We also used that to make our flyer and to learn.

We used the screen shot of the app icon, again to annotate it to help us get a good level.

Lesson 3-5

In the last few lessons we started the actual app, using appshed.
We started by inserting our chosen icon, naming our app and giving it a description.

Then we choose our splash screen ( That means the background for when you turn the app on) we could either choose one of appshed's or one of our own.

We then made our tabs, we could use our own image for the tabs and name them.
Finally some of us started to sort out the font, colour and size of the text on our pages.

Lesson 2

05/02/2014

Today, We designed our icons for the app, these are the images that the user will see before they click the app to go on to it.

To do that we went on either Paint, Microsoft  Publisher or Microsoft Powerpoint.
Then, we drew them, we had to draw two.
After that we put underneath them which one we wanted as our icon for our SAPP app and explained why.

We also finished our game for the app, our choices were;
Word search,
Spot the difference or
A quiz.

Welcome to our Sustainbility App (SAPP) Project blog

Students at Hope Academy are completing an app project all about its specialism of sustainability and is intended for primary school children in the area. It will inform pupils how Hope Academy live and learn about sustainability, ensuring the world can continue providing the needs of future generations, such as clean water, clean energy sources, food, etc.

Please read our posts to find updates about the project and what we are learning.

We have been provided funding from Agilysis to use a fantastic resource called appshed to create our apps; and the best will be uploaded to the iTunes app store for all to download for free.
